The Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature Card gives the cardholder something to look forward to in the way of savings on travel costs. Points earned through everyday and Wyndham hotel chain purchases enable cardholders to get free nights in Wyndham hotels.
The Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature Card is a reward card that allows individuals to earn free stays in Wyndham hotels just by making everyday purchases with the card. There is no annual fee to be able to have this credit card. In other words, it is a credit card that literally gives back.
It gives back in the way of points that are earned for making everyday purchases and using the card on Wyndham hotel stays. To get you started, you earn bonus points with your first purchase. You can then earn points spent on your usual purchases, but you earn more when you use your card to pay for participating hotel stays. The bonus points alone are enough to earn you free nights in one of over a dozen Wyndham hotel chains. Some of the Wyndham hotel chains include Ramada, Days In, Microtel, Super 8, Howard Johnson Travelodge, Wingate, Baymont Inns & Suites, Knights Inn, and many others.
When you apply for the Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature Card, you can do so online. The application process is very simple. First, you simply enter your general information. This information includes your name, address, and what your residence status is and amount of time at that residence. Next, you fill out your employment and financial information. It is here that you are able to specify your occupation, your total income, whether or not you intend on using the card at an ATM, whether or not you have a savings or checking account, and how many times you have taken cash advances from your existing cards in the past six months.
The next step is to fill out your contact information. This includes your telephone number and email address. You must also specify that you are a U.S. Citizen. You have to be a citizen and at least 18 years of age to qualify for the card.
You can also take the opportunity during the application process to opt for paperless statements. This gives you the opportunity to receive your statements online rather than through the mail. This is a very secure way for you to view your statements so that you do not have to worry about them getting lost in the mail or someone stealing a statement from your mailbox in an effort to steal your identity.
The next space is where you specify whether or not you are a Wyndham Rewards Member. If you are already a member, you can enter your member number so that your membership can automatically be tied to your credit card after the card is approved.
If you have balance transfers that you need to have performed, you can go ahead and specify cards that you want to specify balance transfers from. Because this card has a very competitive APR on balance transfers, you can opt to have the balances from more than one card transferred to this one. Once you complete this step, if you need to, and you accept the terms and conditions, you can submit your application for a 30-second decision.
While you can specify in the application what cards you would like to transfer balances from, it is possible that your balance transfer requests may exceed the credit limit that you are given. If that is the case, then Barclays, the card issuer, will determine whether or not to deny the entire balance transfer or to perform part of a balance transfer. Even if part of a transfer is completed, you can still save money on the interest that you pay on the high interest card.
It is important to keep in mind that balance transfers have an APR and a fee associated with them. The fee is a percentage of the transaction or a minimum dollar amount, whichever is greater. You can easily figure based on the interest of your other credit cards whether or not the balance transfer will save you money. When the interest rate is lower than the card you wish to transfer from, chances are it will save you money over the years.
APR & Fees
There are two levels of APR. The lower of the two is typically very competitive. The higher of the two is average to competitive. Which you receive is based on your creditworthiness and the exact rate depends on the market, which is based on the Prime Rate. The APR for balance transfers and purchases are the same. Cash advances have their own APR that is higher than the purchase and balance transfer APR. From there, there are fees.
There is no annual fee, but there is a fee for balance transfers and cash advances that are a minimum dollar amount or a percentage of the transaction, whichever is greater. Foreign transaction fees are charged as a small percentage of each transaction.
If a payment is late or a payment is returned, there are fees associated with each. The fees can vary by state. Both fees can be charged if a returned payment results in a late fee. However, there is no over-the-credit-line fee, which means the card cannot go over the limit on purchases and balance transfers and any fees charged by Barclays that causes the card to exceed its credit limit will not result in an over-the-credit-line fee.
The Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature Card makes owning a credit card a little sweeter through points rewards that really do pay off when cardholders redeem their points for free hotel stays at any of the participating Wyndham hotel chains. The savings can really add up.
