The Discover it for Students is a credit card that designed for the college student who may be looking for a way to rectify those moments when cash may be tight. Because this is a college student friendly card, there are a number of perks that it possesses that are not customary of other credit cards. These perks include the ability to earn 1 percent cash back on all purchases and 5 percent cash back on purchases within certain categories every quarter, no late fee for the first late payment, and no increase in APR when a late payment is made.

In addition to the breaks on fees, there is no annual fee to have the card and there is no foreign transaction fee. All other fees include a separate APR for balance transfers with an introductory period and APR for balance transfers. The fee for balance transfers is a percentage of the transfer. Cash advances have a set dollar or percentage for each cash advance.

Overall, the card is one that takes a lot off of the mind of the student. Because students have to worry about tests and other college-related things, they do not have to worry about their credit card account. When the account does need to be managed, it can be online and through the 100 percent U.S. based customer service that is available 24/7.
